It's already January 17th. So much for my intention of daily posts & pictures. Pretty sure I can't remember every detail since 1/5, but perhaps the highlights.
1/7 -1/11 Installation of pavers. The flatbed truck pulls up with our pavers. David & I go out to make sure that they are the right color. They are not. A call is made to Joe & he says I approved the color. Apparently, the color I approved was not the one I thought I approved so I have to settle for what's on the truck.
What happened? Earlier, Joe comes by the house with fax saying that David signed off on a color with yellow in the name. Joe thought that this was wrong so wanted me to verify the correct color. I told him I wanted anything BUT yellow. He said that's what he thought & mentioned another color that sounded right but I did not have the color swatch book in front of me so I really wasn't sure. The color we had picked out, after visiting the paver place, was very mono toned, with lots of brick red. The pavers we received were multi colored, with some red, some charcoal & some yellow! Since I did not verify the change, I felt obligated to settle for what was delivered.
In spite of my initial distress re: the paver mix-up, the driveway looks fabulous! I'm very happy with the way it turned out & feel like the alternate pavers have more excitment than the ones I originally picked out.
1/10 - Watered plants at the CC Historical Museum & got my hair done.
1/14 - Dinner at the Joint. Ran into Bob Gehring, who we met there about a year earlier.
1/15 - Flew up to MN. Matt picked us up and brought us home, as there was band practice that night.
1/16 - Cleaned some. Found 2 dead mice & 1 almost dead. Worked on the dog rain coat. Dinner at Mill Street where we ran into Browns & Olsens.

The guys showed up today to remove our concrete driveway, to be replace with pavers.
Picked up Peter & Chrysanthe from the airport then went to the Joint for half priced pizza.
January 3, 2013
Got a Mani-Pedi since my hair appointment got cancelled.
Walked to the yacht club for sunset then went to Fletchers for dinner.
January 4, 2013
Went to see Petty Cash which is the band of the guys, Tim & Bill, we met on New Year's. Got together with Dan & Lorrie at the Sandy Parrot.
Saturday, 1/5
Spent most of the day making reservations for our Vegas trip. Sat out back for sunset then went to Iguana Mia for fajitas with Peter, Chrysanthe, Doug & his friend Doug.

January 1, 2013
David & I were invited to a New Year's Eve party at Fisherman's Village Marina in Punta Gorda by our next door neighbors. Went to a pot luck happy hour & dinner then an outdoor party including a live band, beer & wine. It got a little cold so we headed over to an indoor venue with a couple of other party goers to hear another band. Rang in the new year dancing to some techno music.
There are some mangroves bordering the boat dock area which attracted a heron.
The marina provided loaner bikes, which we used to ride to breakfast.
On the way home, we arrived back at Bimini Basin just in time for the first beautiful sunset of the year.
